Residential Addition & Renovation, Westwood, MA. The
owners of this 1950’s ranch wanted to enlarge their home, enhancing
its warmth and hospitality, while respecting its character. They also
wanted
to fix features that didn’t work or were missing, so that they
could remain here into the future. Needed improvements included: reconfiguring
the front entry and improving the circulation patterns to and through
the house, enlarging the master bedroom and bathroom, expanding the garage
to house 2 cars and a workbench, adding a bay window and window seat
in the living room, improving attic storage and ventilation, and providing
for storage of garden tools and supplies. A range of design schemes was
considered in relation to current and future needs, budget, and aesthetic
considerations, and together choices were made.
Work was completed in 2002.
