Residential Addition & Renovation, Dedham, MA

After years of using the small cottage as a second home, the owners wished to enlarge and renovate it, without changing its fundamental character and to make it their primary residence. Located on a steeply sloping site with spectacular water views, the property was constrained by zoning and conservation restrictions. What evolved was a design for a single story addition off the kitchen, and a three-level addition off the living room, incorporating a new front porch, and a lower level workshop, and capturing views at the upper levels. A builder constructed the “shell” and the owners are in the process of finishing the interior themselves.
