Our design approach is collaborative and flexible, guided by our clients’ priorities and aspirations, and by unique site opportunities and constraints. We listen carefully to what you tell us, and take time to study and understand your house and your site, seeking the cues it offers. Typically, design is an iterative process of discovery, often leading to a solution that was not initially envisioned.  We keep and open mind and try not to start with a solution – ours or yours -- and we check back with you to make sure that what we are proposing is on track.

We draw inspiration from many forms of residential architecture – from the modern and contemporary to the historic and traditional. Although we carry a healthy respect for “old houses,” we also know homebuilding is a constantly evolving art and that new work needs to respond to 21st century needs and concerns – incorporating new technologies and materials where appropriate and responding to how you live in today’s world.  Our goal is to arrive at cost-effective and energy-efficient design solutions that add comfort, quality, value and enjoyment to your home.
